Darrell Lewis joined Accela in June 2000 and has held a number
of management positions in the organization, including Director
of Sales Engineering and Sr. Director of Services. He has
extensive experience with Accela products and the domains
that these products serve.
Mr. Lewis has had a close connection with
governmental permitting and planning user communities for over
25 years, and has direct experience with public agencies and their
various business processes.
He practiced architecture for 15 years and has devoted much of his
career to helping clients understand how technology can be used
to improve their businesses by exploiting available technologies.
He has extensive experience in both the planning and implementation
of these new technologies. Prior to joining Accela, Mr. Lewis was
the Vice President of Web Services for the former AECdirect, launched
by the American Institute of Architects to provide targeted information
and services to the design and construction industries.
A graduate of Virginia Tech, Mr. Lewis holds a Master of Architecture
Degree in Urban Design and a Bachelor of Architecture Degree in
Architecture and Environmental Design.
