Sales Engineer
Location: Northeast

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform product demonstrations to potential and current customers,
remotely as well as in person, at client sites and industry
events throughout the country.
• Configure Accela software solutions to reflect business specifics
of target customers by understanding both their business processes
and our software offerings. This includes the review of customer demonstration
requirements in order to develop Accela demonstration scripts.
• Prepare FRDs to convey product requirements to Engineering that
reflect the needs of the client specifically and the install
base in general as a result of demo script requirements, discussions with
potential and current customers, or requests from sales team.
• Work closely with the sales team as a key technical product advisor
and product advocate using technical knowledge of product
offerings.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
• Remain fully knowledgeable of our products in order to
best leverage the features and functions.
• Remain informed of job-related issues through networking, training
programs, seminars and trade publications
• Articulate and promote Accela’s technology and product positioning
to both business and technical users.
• Attend meetings when necessary
• Maintain a flexible work schedule
• Perform other duties when assigned
Experience/Skills
• Experience in engineering or sales of similar software
products or in the use of those products in target client base,
or a combination of both.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate
well one on one with client administrators and end users
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills delivered professionally with the able
to improvise and adapt to meeting dynamics.
• Solid knowledge of local/state government business processes in
permitting, planning, and enforcement activities a plus.
• Technical ability to process available information in order to
deploy and configure software.
• Able to exercise a reasonable amount of independent judgment under
a minimum of supervision.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, the ability
to prioritize action items and meet deadlines, work in a team
environment, follow written policies and procedures, and maintain superior
customer service at all times with all users.
• Reside in assigned region and able to travel throughout the country
frequently with little advance notice (travel up to 75% of
the time).
Education
• Requires a Bachelors degree in a technology, marketing/sales,
or communication related field or the equivalent skill and
knowledge.
