Senior Technical Consultant


Location: Central US/East Coast | Department: Services


Job Description
Serves as an integral member of Accela’s Technical Services team, providing complex implementation-related technical consulting services on a variety of Accela projects nationwide. Works in conjunction with Accela Project Managers to provide professional implementation services as a part of cross-functional implementation teams. Performs analysis of clients’ hardware and hosting environments and makes recommendations for appropriate hardware, operating systems, software, and related costs. Provides technical configuration services for Accela’s web-based products, wireless application, and integrated voice response system.

Participates in sales efforts for Accela products by reviewing project-specific technical requirements, assessing the suitability of Accela products for a project, and documenting hardware and hosting environment requirements. Extensive nationwide travel on short notice is required as a part of this position.

Required Qualifications
•Comfortable working directly with a variety of clients either in person or remotely.
• Ability to effectively communicate with clients’ technical staff on complex technical issues.
• Must have strong analytical skills, and the ability to document findings in a format that is easily understood by   individuals without extensive technical backgrounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and presentation skills are required.
• Must be comfortable working in a cross-functional team environment to analyze and develop conceptual designs   and network diagrams for client systems, including hardware and software requirements.
• Five years of experience in defining, documenting and deploying complex technical solutions as a part of software   solutions implementation.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with minimal supervision.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
• Experience with ASP, HTML, Cold Fusion, XML, VXML, JavaScript, VoIP against Digital or Analog, and SIP required.
• Knowledgeable with Network Infrastructure including DNS, DHCP, IP Routing, TCP/IP, and firewall technology.
• Knowledgeable with IIS use and installation.
• Experience installing client-server software.
• Knowledgeable with SQL Server 2000 to include Transact-SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, and Performance   Tuning.
• Knowledgeable using Oracle 8i or higher to include PL/SQL and SQL Plus and ability to read and create SQL.
• Knowledgeable using and installing Windows 2000/2003 server.

Desired Qualifications
• Experience working with government agencies preferred.
• Previous experience using Accela applications a plus.
• Experience with ARC IMS and/or ARC SDE and GIS technology (map viewers, terminology, and administrative   tools) a plus.
• Experience with Nuance IVR Software a plus.
• Any of the following certifications is a plus: MCSE, MCDBA, OCP
