San Ramon, Calif. (July 29, 2008)
Accela, Inc., the leading
provider of government automation software solutions that support agencies
in delivering services to the public, announced today the most extensive
release to-date of its signature Web-based application, Accela
Automation®. The release of version 6.6 includes over 85 strategic
enhancements that empower agencies to operate more efficiently so they
can raise customer service levels and provide citizens and the business
community easy access to services via the Internet.
Enhancements in this release support existing Accela Automation features
with robust new functionality that enables agencies to further streamline
permitting, licensing, inspection, and asset management processes.
Key new features expand self-service capabilities for public users, leverage
mobile GIS and mobile citizen access for contractors and staff working
in the field, and improve the user experience with login screens that
are easier to use and deliver quicker, more accurate results.
In addition, new security measures have been deployed with this release
to comply with Payment Card Industry (PCI) best practices to protect consumer
credit information from fraud, hackers, or other security vulnerabilities
and threats.
“Accela is committed to empowering government to deliver next generation
customer service that keeps pace with the demands of an increasingly Internet-savvy
public,” states Maury Blackman, Accela president and CEO. “Application
enhancements that support self-service and mobility, improve the way users
interact with Web technology, and that make government services more accessible,
responsive, and convenient continues to drive our product development
focus.”
