SAN RAMON, Calif. – March 17, 2015 – Accela Inc., the leading provider of cloud-based civic engagement solutions for government, announced today that Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge has selected Accela Recreation and Resource Management on the Accela Civic Platform to streamline their operations and make transactions convenient and accessible, saving refuge resources and allowing citizens access to services from home or on-the-road.
Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge is a 10,144 acre refuge established in 1963 under the authority of the Migratory Bird Conservation Act. Located on the west shore of the Delaware Bay, approximately 22 miles southeast of Dover, the State Capital, Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge is one of more than 550 refuges in the National Wildlife Refuge System administered by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
The Accela Recreation and Resource Management solution enables the public to easily access parks, forests and campgrounds, participate in park activities and register for permits and licenses. Citizens can pay for entrance passes and recreation use onsite, online or on their mobile devices. Automated technology offers agencies the ability to capture additional revenue without upfront capital or operational expenditure.
“We’re excited to provide Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge with a more efficient way to transact,” said Maury Blackman, Accela President and CEO. “Accela’s cloud-based Recreation and Resource Management solution enables agencies to streamline daily operations such as registration, fee processing and resource scheduling. Prime Hook will now be able to run their program in a way that saves them time and money, while enhancing the overall citizen experience.”
