City of Fresno Selects Accela Civic Platform for $3 Million Software Upgrade

5th Largest California City to Increase Productivity and Improve Permitting Response Times With Cloud-based Civic Tech

SAN RAMON, Calif. – June 23, 2016 – Accela, the leading provider of cloud-based productivity and civic engagement solutions for government, today announced that Fresno, CA, has selected multiple solutions on the Accela Civic Platform to help the City streamline service delivery, build a better community and improve the citizen experience. The Fresno City Council unanimously approved the $3 million civic tech initiative to replace current software used within its Building, Permitting, Zoning, Land Management, Code Enforcement and Planning departments.

Fresno will implement Accela Land Management, Mobile Apps, GIS, and Citizen Access on the Accela Civic Platform to meet the diverse needs of the Fire and Public Works Departments. The City will continue to leverage its earlier adoption of Accela Citizen Relationship Management to better engage with citizens via mobile technology and to increase accountability and overall efficiency across its government agencies. Working in tandem with the City over the past several years, Accela has supported several major local tech initiatives including Business Friendly Fresno (BFF) and "FresGO." The initiatives have spurred an increase in planning and building applications for the City and highlighted the need for a more modern software solution to meet service and process requests.
