Over the years, Mr. Morrey has designed and implemented a wide variety
of systems to serve local government. These include land and asset
management, permitting management, and emergency response systems.
One of the recent highlights of his career came when he was called
upon to design and implement a disaster recovery solution to assist
in the safety damage assessment for the City of New Orleans in the
wake of Hurricane Katrina. Those efforts resulted in the unprecedented
ability to inspect and classify 125,000 structures in less than
10 weeks.
Mr. Morrey has been a member of the aecXML Technical Subcommittee
of the International Alliance for Interoperability North America
and a technical member of the Information Technology Industry Advisory
Sub-Committee (ITIAS). He represents Accela as a member of the buildingSMART
Alliance board and serves as the industry liaison for fostering
alliances and standards to that same board.
Mr. Morrey has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Aided Design
and Graphics from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the University
of Utah. He has taught masters and doctorate level courses in statistics
and information systems for the University of Phoenix MBA and the
University of Utah MPA programs.
