Accela, Keyhole, and Microsoft have teamed together to provide a first look at government-centric demonstrations showcasing the presentation, communication, storage, and security features available in the .NET 2.0 framework, as well as the new Windows operating system (O.S.), code-named Longhorn.

Together, the companies created a demonstration using Accela’s mobile government product, Accela Wireless™, and its Emergency Response Solution, a powerful disaster planning and mitigation tool that provides rapid damage assessment, reporting, and inspection capabilities. Specifically, the demonstration shows how a mobile inspector in the field benefits from a suite of services made available via Accela Wireless and the .NET framework, and more dramatically, how emergency operations centers (EOC) can connect government agencies, citizens, and businesses to respond more effectively to a crisis.

The mobile inspection management capabilities of the Accela Wireless application are greatly enhanced by new Microsoft technology, including the pending release of Visual Studio .NET 2005 and WinFX, as well as ClickOnce, SQL Server Express Edition, and InfoPath’s forms solution. The demonstration also provides an early look at how powerful advancements in the Longhorn O.S. will impact government applications.
