Temecula Utilizes Wireless Technology to Empower its Mobile Inspection Teams

Accela Wireless enables inspectors to perform daily tasks from the field

The Challenge
Though the City of Temecula automated many of its permitting activities, the inspection teams still faced challenges that greatly inhibited their productivity in the field—travel time to and from inspection sites and the inability to remotely access the agency database and process inspections. The City needed a solution to streamline the inspection process and make inspection results available immediately.

The Solution
The City implemented Accela Wireless™, an application that allows inspectors to transfer many of their daily tasks from the office to the field. Equipped with Tablet PCs running the application, fire inspectors remotely transmit inspection results, allowing them to remain in the field longer and complete more inspections per day.

The Bottom Line
Since implementing Accela Wireless, inspectors are working more efficiently and responding to the community’s needs more proactively.
