What’s New in
Accela Automation 6.4? Release Recap
Included below is an overview of the major new features in version 6.4.
For a complete list of the new features in this release, please contact
the Customer Resource Center.
New Features
Script Event Tied to Valuation Calculator –
Provides the ability to trigger FeeAssessBefore and FeeAssessAfter events
when the user adds, edits, or deletes fee items; adds, edits, or deletes
valuation calculators; changes the Fee Calculation Factor option; or clicks
the ReCalc button.
Fee Calc Factor field available to EMSE for batch processing –
Provides the ability, through an EMSE script, to set the value of the
Fee Calc Factor field.
User Defined Data Items for Activities – Provides
the ability to configure user-defined data items for activities based
on activity type. This functional configuration and behavior is similar
to task specific information, but defined for an activity type instead
of a workflow task. For example, an agency administrator would define
a text item of Topic and a check box item of Follow up for the activity
type of Phone Call. The agency user would add an activity of type Phone
Call to a building permit. Then the system would present to the user both
data items and the user would mark the “Follow up” check box
and type in Fees for the Topic data item as well as a description of the
discussion. Reports could, for example, list all Phone Call type activities
that are marked “Follow Up” to aid in resolving issues such
as this. This scenario is outside the context of workflow tasks.
Accounts Receivables – Provides the ability to
create and maintain CAP (Case, Application, Permit) sets, make set payments,
and view set payment history. Also provides the ability to customize the
Set Payment Receipt using Report Manager, and to customize the receipt
number.
Workflow - Proximity Alerts – Adds the proximity
alert function to workflow in Accela Automation Vantage360®. (The
same function is already available in Accela Automation Classic.) A proximity
alert can be configured along with confirmation actions for an alert.
Global QuickQueries™– Provides support for
$$userid$$, $$today$$.
Customized Payment Receipt and Invoice – Provides
the ability to create a customized payment receipt and invoice using Report
Manager in Accela Automation Vantage360.
Valuation Calculator – Provides a grid style input
interface, similar to the Attached Tables feature, to allow input of multiple
values per row and multiple rows per screen on the Valuation Calculator.
Also adds the fee multiplier on the screen for view only.
Point of Sale (POS) Layout Enhancements – Provide
the ability in Accela Automation Vantage360 to:
• Manage fee categories and items used in the POS feature
• Add customized fee categories and fee items
• Go to the Invoice screen automatically
• Support multiple payment methods and apply a partial payment
• Generate and print a receipt automatically
EDMS Web Services Enhancements:
• HTTPS user authentication with external system – Provides
user authentication when a user downloads, uploads, or deletes
a document.
• Document Type Configuration – Makes the Accela (internal
database) adapter and the standard (Web service) adapter match
the document type configuration designed for Accela Document Service.
• CAP-specific Document Type – Provides the ability to get
customized document types for each application type in the
Accela Automation Vantage360 document function.
• Integration Doc View and Edit – Provides the ability to
integrate customer’s third-party EDMS system, including document
view and edit capabilities.
Wild Card Search Capability – Specific fields in
Accela Automation Vantage360 now support search using the percent symbol
“%” as a wild card character.
Report Manager Enhancements:
• All database columns can be accessed by variables in multiple
columns in an RTF report.
• The administrator can configure a network printer as a service
so a report can be configured to print automatically to that
printer when the report is run.
• Five Reports portlets are available to be assigned to a user console.
This allows an administrator to assign a report to any or
all of the Reports portlets and create customized lists of reports in
a Reports portlet for a specific console configuration. For
example, an administrator may want to have a customized Reports portlet
for the default consoles used by different user groups.
CAP Fee Estimator – Provides the ability to configure
fields required to estimate fees for a CAP so the user can input data
to those fields only and calculate a fee estimate for the CAP. In addition,
allows the administrator to configure which CAP Types will be displayed
in Accela Citizen Access™ for citizen users to create fee estimates.
Configure Inspection Schedule Date Request for Accela Citizen
Access and Accela IVR – Provides the ability to configure
the cutoff day for inspection requests submitted using Accela Citizen
Access and Accela IVR™. The admin user determines whether a user
can request an inspection to be scheduled on the same day of the request
or on the day following of the request. For example, one agency’s
policy may state that a request to schedule an inspection for the next
day must be submitted no later than 3:00 p.m., while another agency’s
policy may allow a request to schedule an inspection for the same day
be submitted any time prior to 6:00 a.m. on the day of the requested inspection.
