What’s New in
Accela Wireless 6.5? Release Recap
Included below is an overview of the new features in version 6.5. For
a complete list of the new features in this release, please contact the
Customer Resource Center.
New Features
Work order (CAP) Costs and Parts for Assets – Displays
any existing cost items data on the Case, Application, or Permit (CAP);
also allows the user to create new cost item and part usage data records
for the CAP.
Enhancements include:
• Tab that displays existing cost items and parts information, and
allows the user to add new cost items and parts information
• Check box in System Data that aids in downloading cost types and
parts inventory to Accela Wireless
• Option in Scheduled Tasks to download cost types as a scheduled
task
• Option in Scheduled Tasks to download the parts inventory as a
scheduled task
• Pop-up form in the cost items tab on the CAP. Users can enter
data for a new cost item record or edit an existing cost item
record.
• Pop-up form in the cost items and parts tab on the CAP. Users
can enter data for a new parts transaction record or edit
an existing parts transaction record.
Guide Sheets – The carry over guide sheet allows
administrators to carry over failed Guide Sheet Items to the next inspection
and to copy Guide Sheets from one Inspection Type to another.
Message Popup Details – Adds an additional option
to allow the user to indicate which type of pop-up messages to display.
The options are both Comment and Error messages, Error messages only,
or no messages at all. Message detail is still available from the Message
Management form.
Additional Fields for CAP Search Results – Updates
the CAP Query, Parcel Query, and Asset Query to display additional information
about the object in a list view instead of a tree view.
Enhancements include:
• List view instead of a tree view control on the CAP Query results,
Parcel Query results, and Assets Query results tabs
• View CAPs related to Parcel Query results
• Set the Display, Sort, and Group columns for CAP results
• Set the Display, Sort, and Group columns for Parcels results
• Set the Display, Sort, and Group columns for Assets results
Upload Files from a CAP – Adds the ability to upload
files from the New CAP and Edit CAP screens. Enhancements include:
• New button on the Files tab of the CAP Detail form to open the
Upload File pop-up dialog form
• Submit documents to UploadFile Web method when added to the CAP
• Create an Upload File pop-up dialog form to retrieve the document,
document type, and description from Accela Automation®
• Add “document type” option to “Request system
data” form
Scheduling Inspections – Includes an updated Inspection
entry form. When scheduling or rescheduling an inspection, users can enter
an AM or PM value instead of the time value.
Enhanced Conditions – Supports condition announcements
by adding a Condition tab to Inspection forms. When editing an inspection
and applied conditions exist, the tab opens automatically. Enhancements
include:
• Standard conditions on new and existing CAPs
• New text fields that include:
- Comments
- Resolution Actions
- Public Display Messages
- Optional field lengths for each of the text fields
If the user selects a status other than ‘Applied’, Accela
Wireless disables the severity drop-down list for that condition.
Refactor Address Behavior in Mobile GIS – Accela
GIS™ can get an address from the Accela Automation database when
selecting Accela GIS objects to create a CAP and an inspection.
Limit Mobile GIS Data Download – Adds the ability
to limit the amount of data downloaded to the client device.
Product Roadmap
The next release of Accela Wireless will be version 6.6 and is scheduled
for release July 2008.
