Included below is an overview of the major new features in version 6.5.
For a complete list of the new features in this release, please contact
the Customer Resource Center.
New Features
Ability to Set Accela Citizen Access GIS Viewer
– Updates the GIS Viewer to a .Net version. This design provides
faster user response with better display.
Specific Smart Choice Groups for SPEAR – Allows
the development and implementation of Accela Citizen Access-specific SmartChoice
Groups for each Case, Application, or Permit (CAP) type. The configuration
for the SmartChoice Groups determines what information is displayed for
a CAP type and in what order on the SPEAR. There are some predetermined
dependencies that may prohibit full customization of order and content
in the SPEAR, for example, Parcel and Owner are dependent on each other.
Ability to Stop and Resume a Cap Process – Provides
the ability to stop an application or fee estimate in process; creates
a partial or temporary CAP, and allows the user to resume the application
or fee estimate at a later session.
Default CAP Status Set on CAP Initialization –
Provides an automatic default CAP status for a particular CAP when it
is submitted via Accela Citizen Access.
Create Accela Citizen Access Document Type – Defines
what types of documents users can attach to an application in Accela Citizen
Access by adding the new property “Document Code For ACA”
for the Application Type.
Architect Solution for Model Conversions – The
permit list is now designed with a new mechanism resulting in less Accela
Citizen Access Web service time.
ACH Check Processing – Provides the ability to
accept checks as a payment option.
Associate Agency with PublicUser – Provides the
ability to control user access to multiple agencies using Accela Citizen
Access. The PublicUser portlet displays associations between the user
and registered agencies in the Registered Agencies tab. Once an initial
Accela Citizen Access account relationship is created for an agency, subsequent
agency relationships for this same user must be manually activated through
the PublicUser portlet.
Additional Parcel Search Functionality – Creates
an additional search option in the existing search drop-down for Parcel
Search. Users are now allowed to search by a specific parcel number and
return parcel-specific details.
As a part of this enhancement, the various search options (address, licensed
professional, permit information, and parcel information) should be made
optional. By doing this, agencies can choose which of the search options
to make available.
Cache Manager – Moves global data, including labels
and Standard Choices, into cache in a .NET layer to improve performance
when accessing that data.
Product Roadmap
The next release of Accela Citizen Access will be version 6.6 and is scheduled
for release July 2008.
