Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA) in Washington DC has been using Accela for processing licenses, case management and enforcement for the past ten years. ABRA’s Accela use began as a self-hosted implementation along with other agencies in Washington DC. Conflicting priorities with other agencies, rising maintenance cost, and lack of adequate support pushed ABRA to look at alternative ways to utilize Accela. After extensive review and analysis with help from Accela, ABRA decided to leave the self-hosted environment and migrate to Accela subscription. The challenges were converting data from MS SQL Server to Oracle, reworking dozens of Crystal Reports to run in Accela’s subscription, uploading electronic documents, and upgrading to a new version of Accela all at the same time. ABRA has been using Accela subscription for three years now with great success and is enjoying the many benefits of version 9.x. This presentation describes the planning process, migration activities, and the benefits gained from moving to Accela subscription. This presentation helps agencies that are considering migration from self-hosted to subscription with the understanding of the process and the benefits. more>>

With Accela, that has dropped by 66% to 23 days. Additionally, within two months of roll-out, PONL had more than 1,600 registered users, an adoption rate (by external permittees) of 63.65% and a 95% customer satisfaction rate.
