Alex Burinskiy
Alex Burinskiy is Chief Information Security Officer at Accela, where he leads cybersecurity, application security, compliance, and trust initiatives supporting technology used by state and local governments. He focuses on building security programs that protect customers, strengthen confidence in Accela’s solutions, and enable innovation and business growth.
Throughout his career, Alex has led enterprise security transformation, cloud and application security, regulatory compliance, and cyber risk management programs across high-growth technology organizations. His approach positions security as a business enabler, aligning security priorities with organizational goals and helping teams adopt emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, securely and responsibly. He is passionate about modernizing cybersecurity and helping public-sector organizations navigate an increasingly complex threat landscape.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a master’s degree in information systems from Minot State University. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
