Accela, Inc. Signs Agreement with Top Saudi IT Reseller and Systems Integrator

Partnership brings industry-leading e-government software to fast-growing Saudi market

Accela, Inc. today announced that it has signed an agreement with Al Moammar Information Systems Co. (MIS), allowing MIS to serve as Accela’s reseller in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The contract links the U.S.-based leader in government software applications with Saudi Arabia’s top reseller and integrator of information technology. The deal will likewise help expand Accela’s presence in the Middle East, where the company has been serving a growing roster of government agencies from its regional headquarters in the United Arab Emirates.

The Saudi software market has continued to flourish amid the global recession, with various studies estimating the market’s current value at over $700 million and predicting double-digit growth through at least 2013. After oil and gas, the government market is anticipated to remain the kingdom’s second largest purchasing sector.

“Saudi Arabia today has one of the most dynamic economies in one of the world’s most dynamic regions,” said Accela CEO and President Maury Blackman. “Through our relationship with a top-shelf company like MIS, which offers strong capabilities and extensive experience in the government sector, we look forward to bringing Accela’s advanced technology to the kingdom, and helping its governments to achieve their goals for efficiency and innovation.”

“At MIS, we pride ourselves on our relationships with the foremost technology innovators in every industry segment and our longstanding service to leading business and government organizations,” said Khalid Al Moammar, President of MIS. “We know that the Saudi government market is primed and ready for the kind of integrated, e-government solutions that Accela delivers.”

SHARED EXPERTISE TO SPUR INNOVATIVE GOVERNMENT

MIS offers a full range of IT solutions, from basic and specialized hardware and software infrastructure, to assist in IT security, networking, e-Solutions, and other specialized IT needs such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Under terms of the agreement, MIS will have rights to resell Accela’s flagship, Web-based enterprise software application, Accela Automation®, which is used by governments to automate critical tasks associated with permitting, licensing, code enforcement, community development and planning, inspections and investigations, infrastructure asset management, emergency response, and more. Accela Automation provides governments with a solution to integrate with their GIS systems, empower their mobile workers, and offer 24/7 access to services via the Web or interactive voice response. The software is available in a completely localized Arabic version that supports regional norms for date formats, currency symbols, and text layout.

“Accela’s unparalleled breath of cutting-edge e-government solutions – combined with its demonstrated commitment to the region – made it the clear choice for MIS in this space,” Al Moammar added. “We look forward to adding Accela’s top-of-the-line offerings to our existing portfolio.”

ROAD-SHOW TO SHOWCASE ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

To launch their relationship in the Saudi market, the companies will jointly embark on a multicity road-show in December 2010 to showcase Accela’s solutions and MIS’ capabilities. Presentations and demonstrations will be given in the cities of Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam.
