SAN RAMON, Calif., Jan. 12, 2012– Accela, Inc., the leading provider of web- and cloud-based software for e-government, today opened registration for the Accela Partner & Developer Conference, to be held March 5 – 7, 2012, at the Resort at Squaw Creek in Squaw Valley, Calif. The expanded event will spotlight the new features of Accela Automation 7.2, the forthcoming version of the company’s flagship enterprise software, which will be delivered in the spring. The Conference will also include a certification program for Accela implementation partners, as well as provide access to the Accela Mobile SDK – a software development kit featuring a collection of application programming interfaces (APIs) and tools for third-party and government agency developers, enabling them to build Accela-based apps for iOS, Windows Phone 7, and Android mobile devices.
“We’re excited at the possibilities afforded by this year’s Conference, and the impact it will have on the services and solutions we offer our hundreds of government customers,” said Don Nanneman, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Accela. “Our new certification program will ensure that Accela’s implementation partners meet the highest standards, while the Accela Mobile SDK will spur the development of apps to meet the burgeoning demand for m-government solutions.”
Accela will be requiring certification for all implementation partners who work on Accela projects, and the Conference will provide the first opportunity for partners to achieve the initial level of certification. All partners who attend the Conference will receive Accela Automation 7.2 intermediate training and implementation certification. Upon completion of certification testing, implementation partners will be invited to participate in the Accela Mobile Developer Lab.
The Partner & Developer Conference will be the first occasion for developers to gain hands-on access and training with the Developer Preview of the Accela Mobile SDK. By attending the Conference, developers will also receive background on Accela Automation and will leave the Conference having built their first Accela mobile app.
The Accela Mobile SDK will be the first of its kind from the company. Opening up the SDK to third-party developers is intended to fuel a rapid expansion of the Accela Automation platform – which already is deployed by hundreds of governments of all sizes as a complete solution for automating critical tasks associated with permitting, licensing, code enforcement, community development and planning, inspections and investigations, infrastructure asset management, emergency response, and more. The initial SDK Toolkit is designed to work with Xcode for iOS, and will be packaged and distributed as simple installers. Toolkits for Windows Phone 7 and Android are planned for later this year. Each SDK will include:
The Accela Mobile SDK will be free for download, but will require registration with the Accela Developer Program. Further details about SDK components, as well as the Developer Program’s costs and structure, will be announced at the Conference.
Registration for the Accela Partner & Developer Conference includes all classes and events. Group discounts are available for implementation partners. Accela has arranged for an early-bird discounted room rate of $209 per night for single/double occupancy rooms at the Resort at Squaw Creek (excluding an $18 per night resort fee and standard taxes). These rates apply for the period beginning three days prior to and ending three days after the event. The rate expires on Friday, February 3, 2012.
