Accela’s Environmental Health solution will help to streamline and improve how a variety of critical services are delivered to residents
San Ramon, Calif. (February 3, 2022) – Accela®, the trusted provider of cloud solutions for government, today announced that it was selected by Tacoma-Pierce County’s Division of Environmental Health to support a critical technology modernization project. The project activates Accela’s cloud-based Civic Application for Environmental Health solution and engages Accela’s Professional Services team to upgrade its permitting, inspection, billing, and time tracking data systems. The upgrade will introduce a wide range of new capabilities for the food safety, septic, pool, well and other programs that contribute to the safe living environment for residents and businesses the agency serves.
The department purposefully leveraged a Washington Foundational Public Health Services grant to add a technical resource to the project, making the effort fit within the department’s day-to-day regulatory activities.
“This project and its underpinnings reflect the need for real time cross-department visibility into the environmental health function. Assigning and tracking tasks across departments or even across regulatory bodies is no longer a convenience.
